Production & manufacturing Production Austin, TX Full-time or part-time
Apply for this role

Keep our printers running and turn digital files into reliable parts for aircraft and other hardware. Your main focus will be print preparation, printer operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and part finishing, with assembly, inventory, shop upkeep, and field-test support alongside.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare and slice print files, choosing orientation, supports, and settings to suit the part and its intended use.
  • Set up, run, and monitor 3D printers; organize print jobs and keep materials and completed parts identified.
  • Troubleshoot failed prints and quality issues, adjust settings, and perform routine printer maintenance.
  • Remove supports, finish parts, and check dimensions, fit, and visible defects before parts move to assembly.
  • Record useful print settings and recurring problems so successful results can be repeated.
  • Finish parts, build sub-assemblies, and assemble aircraft using hand and power tools.
  • Perform kitting, receiving, inventory management, and packouts for shipments and field work.
  • Maintain tooling and shop work areas; follow chemical-handling and PPE procedures, including solvent-cabinet rules.
  • Help rig test stands and support field testing, including travel to test sites (up to approximately 30% when scheduled). Prior flight-test experience is not required.

What you bring

  • Hands-on 3D printing experience, including preparing prints in slicing software, operating a printer, and troubleshooting print problems. Personal or hobby experience is welcome: a home print setup, a makerspace, or a production shop all counts.
  • Practical mechanical ability: you enjoy assembling hardware, using tools, and figuring out why a part or machine is not working as intended.
  • Attention to part quality, organization, and willingness to follow written procedures.
  • Comfort working around solvents, hand and power tools, and PPE requirements.
  • Willingness to contribute to assembly and other shop work alongside 3D printing.
  • Experience with robotics, drones, RC, fabrication, or automotive/motorsports projects is a plus.
  • No degree or minimum years of experience required. We hire for demonstrated capability.
  • A motor-vehicle-record check applies for field-test support.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
